Welcome to Peters Fraser and Dunlop (PFD)

The Peters Fraser and Dunlop agency is like no other in Britain. One of the oldest agencies in Britain, and a co-founder of the Association of Authors Agents, we are home to  a distinguished and varied client list, including Simon Schama, William Hague, Sarah Raven, Twiggy, Sir Max Hastings, Chris Patten, Philip Norman and such estates as V.S. Pritchett, C.S. Forester and Storm Jameson. We are headed up by Caroline Michel, the former publisher of Vintage and managing director of Harper Press. Working alongside her is one of Britain's foremost literary agents, Michael Sissons.  On our staff we have the former editorial director of both Picador and Penguin, the former editor of Question Time, and the former deputy managing director of Cassell and Co.

Peters Fraser and Dunlop offers its clients something unique in British agenting. Calling on our many areas of expertise, we work closely together to deliver an unparalleled full service, covering all aspects of publishing and media businesses. We have an active Film and Television Division that represents directors, writers and broadcasters. We work with TV companies to come up with complementary programming as well selling film and television rights for our book clients. We have a Public Speaking Division for clients who wish to give lectures and speak at events. Our Foreign Rights Division is there to make sure that our authors’ work is sold and published in foreign language markets. We have a Digital Division that represents our clients in the rapidly changing online world as well as a print on demand service to make available the work of out of print authors.

Overall this team ensures that all our clients’ talents and opportunities are given the fullest possible professional attention.

Andrew Neil - Chairman

Andrew Neil is a publisher, broadcaster and company director working out of London, New York, Dubai and the South of France.

He is currently Publisher (chief executive and editor-in-chief) of The Press Holdings Group, owners of The Spectator, Spectator Business and Apollo Art magazines. He is also chairman of ITP, the biggest magazine publisher in the Gulf (based in Dubai); and chairman of World Media Rights (WMR), which owns and exploits TV rights and formats across the globe.

In addition to his publishing responsibilities, Andrew is a well-known anchorman on BBC TV.

Caroline Michel - Chief Executive


Caroline has over 25 years experience in the media industry. She has previously run both Vintage at Random House and Harper Press at HarperCollins. For the last three years  she has headed the William Morris UK Operation. She was a member of the Booker Prize Committee for six years and is currently a Governor of the BFI and Board member of PEN.

Lesley Davey - Managing Director

Lesley Davey has a chartered accountancy background and over 20 years experience managing a range of consumer goods and leisure businesses. Lesley has more recently specialised in small to medium growth opportunities. She has managed many acquisitions, listings and other corporate activity. Lesley is also trustee of the Jane Goodall Institute.

Tim Binding - Talent and Strategy

Tim was formerly Editorial Director of both Picador and Penguin. He joined Peters Fraser and Dunlop in 2008 and works closely with all the agents identifying and developing new talent.
