PFD sell compelling fiction to Quartet Books

Caroline Michel and Annabel Merullo at PFD have secured two book deals with Naim Attallah of Quartet Books.

Michel has sold UK & Commonwealth rights to Attallah for Yorick Blumenfeld’s new work The Waters of Forgetfulness.

Naim Attallah says: “The Waters of Forgetfulness is a fictional memoir from the Augustan age that casts an intimate and uncritical eye at the mores and morals of the period, from the practice of orgies to the mystery cult of the orphics. It is a haunting story beautifully told with an erotic edge deeply embedded in ancient history. The reader will be engrossed as well as fascinated by the masterly telling and weaving of this most compelling tale.”

Yorick Blumenfeld says: “This is the most cinematically promising novel I have ever written. I have researched this since 1982 and collected a couple of hundred volumes in the process. I believe that the launch of my new work is going to be accompanied by unexpected surprises.”

Merullo has sold UK and Commonwealth rights to Attallah for Dazed and Aroused, a first novel by 26 year old former male model Gavin James Bower. It will be published in the UK as a paperback original in July.

Naim Attallah says: “Dazed & Aroused is an engaging debut novel from a young man whose style is well suited to chronicle the fashion world in a fresh and innovative narrative. He's a good story-teller with a natural flow that is both perceptive and easy to grasp. A talent worth watching.”

Yorick Blumenfeld graduated from Harvard before pursuing a successful career in Journalism. He has written several novels including the number one bestseller Jenny-My Diary published by Penguin in the UK which was translated in fourteen languages.

Gavin James Bower is a writer and journalist. His journalism has appeared in Flux, Clash and Dazed & Confused. He has also modelled for John Galliano and Hermes in Paris.
